The connection modes available for Enel Energia's Fiber offers are FTTC and FTTH, which stand for 'Fiber To The Cabinet' and 'Fiber To The Home' respectively. The first is characterised by a fiber-optic connection from the hub to the street cabin, then continuing by copper to the end customer's home. For this reason it is also called mixed-copper fiber. The second, involves the connection from the power station to the end customer's home entirely via fiber optics. In the latter case, the navigating speed achieves higher performance.
You can sign a contract for the provision of Internet access service on the site enel.it, from the Enel Energia app, at the Spazio Enel or Partner Spazio Enel nearest to you, or by calling the toll-free number 800900860.
In most cases, activation of the line requires the intervention of an engineer directly in your home, by appointment. Where possible, existing installations will be used, and if these are not suitable, the engineer may inform you of the need for any adaptation work, which will not be carried out by the engineer, but will be at your expense. If no engineer is needed, we will notify you by email of the successful activation of the line. You can then connect the modem and start using the service.
Generally, the engineer's intervention takes about two hours from arrival. Then, following simple instructions, you can connect the modem that Enel Energia has sent directly to your home and you can start using the Internet connection service.
Enel Energia offers either "data service only" or "data plus voice" plans. If you wish to keep your existing phone number, please remember to select the "data plus voice" plan, which will allow you to request number portability.
If you no longer require voice service, you can sign up for a "data only" plan. However, even in this case, we will need your landline number to activate your Internet service. Furthermore, if your existing line is migrated from your previous provider to Enel Energia, once the data service is active, the voice service will automatically be terminated, resulting in the loss of your current phone number.
If the migration proves technically impossible and a new line is activated, please remember that you will be notified and will be responsible for canceling your contract with your previous provider.
