The regions of competence are:

- Molise
- Basilicata
- Sicily
Customers with supplies managed under the safeguarded service by Enel Energia will receive a communication confirming the activation of the service and indicating the relative conditions applied.
Customers who have a safeguarded service supply can choose at any time to switch to the free market without having to exercise withdrawal. In the Business section you can consult all the offers that Enel Energia offers to companies.

Economic conditions
The prices applied in the safeguarding service are established on the basis of:
- provisions of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (ARERA);
- calculation methods established by decree by the Minister of Economic Development for the fees to cover the costs of supplying wholesale energy, dispatching services and marketing costs.
In particular, Enel Energia applies to the energy supplied and the related grid losses:
- the sum of the fees to cover the costs relating to the dispatching service (with the exclusion of the costs for the effective imbalance and the non-arbitrage fee);
- a consideration equal to the monthly average of the purchase prices on the offer system, pursuant to the decree of the Minister of Productive Activities of December 19, 2003, differentiated by time slots and increased by the value of the omega parameter (Ω), offered by Enel Energy in the auction phase and differentiated by geographical area as indicated below:

Information about the Enel Energia service
For the delivery period from 1 January to 31 December 2013, Enel Energia was the electric utility businesses served in the system of safeguards based on the outcome of the selection procedure under Article 1, paragraph 4 of Law 125 of August 3, 2007 in the regions.
The regions in question were:
- Basilicata;
- Calabria;
- Campania;
- Marche;
- Sardinia;
- Sicily;
- Umbria.
The prices applied to the electricity under the safeguard scheme were established based on calculation criteria defined by decree by the Minister of Economic Development and covered supply costs, dispatch services and marketing costs.
The charges, applied to the electrical consumption by bands and to network losses, were calculated as follows:
- the sum of the value of the "Ω" parameter provided by the safeguard operator in the selection procedures and the value assumed by the monthly arithmetic average of the purchase prices per band, on the system of offers referred to the decree of the Minister of Productive Activities of 19 December 2003;
- the sum of the fees to cover costs for the dispatching service, with the exclusion of the costs for unbalancing and the non-arbitrage fee.
In addition, the companies that operate the safeguard service shall apply the following fees to all customers nationwide:
- fees covering the transport costs given in the Consolidated Text TIT ARERA Resolution no. 348/07 Table 3;
- fees covering the system charges, which are updated every three months and can be inferred from the resolutions issued periodically by the Authority for electricity, gas and the water supply system.
